Reading Comprehension

We have been working on the reading comprehension strategy, asking questions. Good readers ask questions before, during and after reading.

Each Friday we use photographs to sharpen our comprehension skills.  Below is a photograph that we looked at together.  Check out some of the questions that children had about this photograph.

Where's the Math?

Today's "Where's the Math" photo

This week we introduced "Where's the Math" in our classroom. The children had the opportunity to look at a photograph and discuss where they could find math.  They worked with Mrs. Frankian on the first photo; here is what they came up with as a group.

School Meeting Video

We are so proud of all of the children. They did a wonderful job sharing their ideas about what it means to be present.
